Associating Termination Request to the Termed User

Hello.   Scenario: an end-user has been terminated and their leader enters a catalog request to have their Service Now account inactivated.

How can such requests be associated/attached to the newly-termed user's record rather than to the record of the leader (or other person) requesting that termination?  This is helpful when reviewing historical access (roles, groups, etc) in the cases of rehires or new users who needed their access mirrored off of the termed one.

Any guidance is appreciated.  Thank you.

HI @KaciW

If a termination request is created manually and the user's account is still active at the time of submission, then yes, the leader can select the user to be terminated in the "Requested For" variable.

Thank you, Swapna.  That is how I understood it as well.  Below is a screenshot example - so the Opened By could remain the same to reflect the leader who requested the user account's termination, but then we could manually change the Requested For field to the actual terminated user.

Is my line of thinking correct?

hi @KaciW

yes, that's right.

Hi @KaciW ,

When you create a variable in the catalog item, it can updated to delegated access instead of restricted,. This will enable the requested to raise a request on behalf of someone. In the filter condition of that variable you can use active = false filter to only show inactive users. In this case as well the opened by and requested for will be different.
