why ServiceNow does not publish or share the official passing percentage?

Should one should score 42 out of 60 which is 70%?

Once should get 70% in all areas listed below?

Platform Overview and Navigation 6%

Instance Configuration 10%

Configuring Applications for Collaboration 19.5%

Self Service & Automation 19.5%

Database Management and Platform Security 30%

Data Migration and Integration 15%

So technically if one score 100% in Database Management and Platform Security and Configuring Applications for Collaboration Score will be 44 does that mean getting Zero in other areas make one Pass?

Kindly help!!

Hi @RajuPachamatla

Q: Why does ServiceNow keep the passing thresholds of its exams secret.

A: The official answer I've heard from staff is that not disclosing the threshold is in line with standard practice for industry training schemes, especially in IT.

But even though they keep it secret, it's generally understood that the threshold is around 75% - so that's 45 out of 60 questions +/- a few.

Q: Do you have to beat the threshold in every section of the exam to pass?

A: No. You can get low scores on some sections but as long as your total is above 45 (or whatever the actual threshold is) you'll pass.

Q: So technically if one score 100% in Database Management and Platform Security and Configuring Applications for Collaboration Score will be 44 does that mean getting Zero in other areas make one Pass?

A: No ...

If 'Database Management and Platform Security' is 30% of the exam = 18 questions total (/60)

If 'Configuring Applications for Collaboration' is 19.5% of the exam = either 11 or 12 question (/60)

So if you got all the questions in those two sections correct, but got everything else wrong, you would score 29-30/60 - less than 50%. You would still need about 15-16 more correct answers from the other sections to pass.

Hi @RajuPachamatla

does it matter? either you pass or you don’t. if you don’t pass they provide a percentage correctness per area.

If my answer has helped with your question, please mark my answer as the accepted solution and give a thumbs up.
