links to articles in community

Greetings,

I have recently become a ServiceNow admin and developer.  I get great information from the questions and posts in servicenow.com/community.  However, there is an anomaly that happens that seems like it should be easy to fix, but I have found no information on it.  When I click on a link that has been posted in answer to a question, the link only takes me to the community home page.  Here is an example:
https://www.servicenow.com/community?id=community_question&sys_id=7c8f0b25dbdcdbc01dcaf3231f9619c7

The link title is "How to invoke transform maps in scoped apps?" and it was posted here:
https://www.servicenow.com/community/developer-forum/invoke-a-transform-map-from-a-scoped-app/m-p/21...

I click or copy/paste the link but it just takes me to he ServiceNow community home page.  It doesn't seem to matter what the sys_id is in the URL, I always get the welcome page.  The URL doesn't redirect, it shows as what I clicked or pasted.  I am logged in, it shows my name.  Do these posts just no longer exist?  I feel silly even asking this.

1 ACCEPTED SOLUTION

Hi @DanielAPS ,

Yes, the link shared by anjalichoudhary is taking me back to community home page. It means that the link is corrupted or might be anjalichoudhary have shared an incorrect link and just changed the label of URL at the first place. I am assuming since her response was not marked helpful nor accepted as solution.

Hi @DanielAPS ,

The first link which you have shared takes me to the homepage of community and the second link is a question posted by the community member.

So I believe the first link is not a link to a question. Since a valid question post have subject of the question in the URL.

So the second URL should have routed you to a post. This is a browser issue. Try clearing you cached and then give a try.

If my response helped then please accept the solution and hit the thumbs.

Rohit

Thank you for replying, Rohit.  Please, if you could, click on the second link in my question.  As you said, it is a link to a posted question.  If you scroll down to the first reply to that question (as supplied by anjalichoudhary) she supplies a link and says:

This link might help you to fulfill your requirement:

How to invoke transform maps in scoped apps?

I would have thought that clicking on that link would take me to a post or article entitled "How to invoke transform maps in scoped apps?".  Instead, it takes me to the community home page, as you noted.
If you click on the link, either the one I posted here, or in the original reply from anjelichoudhary, does it take you to the community home page or does it take you to the post with the subject?
If you get the home page, then it functions the same for both of us and I am guessing it is a dead link.

If you get the article, then it must be my browser or something with our network.

Many thanks!

Thank you for confirming!  What threw me is that the URL stays the same, it does not redirect to a new URL, it keeps the same one but renders it as the home page.  Weird?  I am glad you could confirm that it wasn't working.  Thank you, again!
