Renew button on contract for 'service contract' contract model

Hi Team,

Currently SAM contract Renew button, execute workflow for type- support contract type - Software license, Subscription contract, Maintenance, and Warranty contract models. It creates tasks-

Build renewal
Assets selection
Software assets selection
Terms and conditions
Rate cards
Renewal confirmation

 

However if contract model is service contract it displays the Legacy Renew button which does not trigger flow.

My requirement is if contract model is service contract then I want to trigger the flow to create different tasks.

I do not want to update OOTB utils for New Renew button configs . 

I want to create new Renew button which can create different task for contract type service contract

Please guide me if anyone has developed solution for this?

Hello @ShreeyaSatam 

Instead of modifying the OOTB Renew button or its utility, create a custom UI Action with a condition so it is visible only when the Contract Model = Service Contract. From the UI Action, trigger your own Flow Designer flow (or Script Include) to create the required renewal tasks.

This keeps the OOTB functionality unchanged, is upgrade-safe, and allows you to have a separate renewal process for Service Contracts.
