Unable to create application

Hi,

I tried creating a custom application in PDI but it is showing as follows

"Unable to create this application. Go back to the create app experience and enter a different scope name. Details: Failed to create templated object, details: This scope is already taken by another application"

I have tried couple of times with different application names, but it is still showing like this. Did anyone else faced this kind of issue?

Hey,
This error happens because the scope name is already taken by another app. ServiceNow doesn’t allow two apps with the same scope.

What you can try:

  • Go back and enter a unique scope name (like add numbers or your initials at the end).

  • Or, open Studio

 Click on Create Application

then add Your application name or description

Click on Create, then click on Continue in Advanced Studio.

In this way, the system usually creates a unique scope/roles automatically.
I tried this and it worked fine.
