How to restrict service portal category for a specific group

I am trying to restrict a portal category for specific group of users using "Available for" option by configuring User criteria but it doesn't seems to work. If a user has access to the catalog item under that Category he is able to access the catalog item even though the user is not part of that group which grant access to the Category.

Is there any other way to do this please?

Regards,

Maria

@MariaJeromi

you are just restricting the category and not catalog item within that category.

If a user meets the criteria for a catalog item but not for the category, the item can still be accessed directly (for example, via a direct link or search), even if the category is hidden from the portal navigation.

Steps

You can use Same User Criteria added to category at every catalog item under that category.

Hi @Ankur Bawiskar

I even tried by removing the catalog item under the Category, I couldn't be able to restrict the access to the Category in the portal.

I have also tried the above given solution of adding the Category's User criteria to the Catalog items under it. But it gives visibility to more than one catalog item to the user which is not the correct scenario. Here, the Category and the catalog items are restricted on the basis of specific groups individually.

@MariaJeromi

so you are not able to restrict the category itself?

Please share what you configured
