Issue while submitting public Record Producer form – "Something went wrong, your request could not b

Hello Experts,

I am trying to create a public Record Producer (external lead form) so that external users can submit lead details without logging in.

Earlier, I faced an issue where the variables in my Record Producer form were showing as read-only for external users. To fix that, I went into the Record Producer → Variables → Permissions tab and added public (create, write, and read) roles for each variable. After this, the fields are no longer read-only and I can type values.

However, now when I try to submit the form from the Service Portal (incognito window, not logged in), I get the following error:

“Something went wrong and your request could not be submitted. Please contact your system administrator.”

Has anyone faced this issue before?

  • Do I need to give additional roles/ACLs on the Lead table?

  • Or should I configure any Catalog Item / Record Producer level ACLs to allow submission from public users?

  • Is there any extra step needed apart from making the catalog and category available for “All Users”?

Any guidance on what I might be missing here will be really helpful.

Thanks in advance!

Hi RohitPapann,

I would check on the record producer for the user criteria that "available for" is set to public. You would also need to check your ACLs for that table as I would think it is you "guest" user being the one to submit the record. The guest user would need a role that allows "create" on that related table.

Hope that helps.

@RohitPapann

the table on which record producer is created should allow CREATE and WRITE for External users.

Did you check the Table.None CREATE and Table.None WRITE ACL and add external role there?

If my response helped please mark it correct and close the thread so that it benefits future readers.
