Agile Guidance

ServiceNow offers two complementary and connected agile planning solutions—Collaborative Work Management (CWM) and Enterprise Agile Planning (EAP)—designed to support organizations at every level of agile maturity.

In the attached deck, you’ll get a preview of our vision for connected agile planning, where strategic goals and enterprise-level roadmaps meet the flexible, day-to-day execution needs of teams. You’ll also find guidance tailored to current Agile Dev 2.0 customers, a look at our future roadmap, and answers to common FAQs.

What sets our approach apart is a shared data model across CWM and EAP—epics, stories, teams, and sprints—creating one system where progress flows from team boards to enterprise portfolios, providing real-time visibility and alignment across all agile levels.

Whether you're planning across Agile Release Trains or managing incidents alongside sprint work, this deck will help clarify how ServiceNow supports connected, scalable, and flexible agile planning—now and into the future.

Thank you  @Irene5 for the document, it is very useful.

Could you please confirm

CWM/ EAP and Agile/SAFe Artifacts
With the implementation of Connected Work Management (CWM), EAP how can we ensure that Agile or SAFe artifacts like user stories, epics, and features continue to be created from existing Idea and Demand records as part of the Idea/Demand lifecycle?

Project Workspace & CWM Connection
Currently the Agile Phases / Agile stories can be created from the Agile or Hybrid Project ifrom within the Project Workspace. Will this be possible to have them automatically synchronized and visible within the CWM, and does this bi-directional connection also apply in reverse?

Thank you

Hi @Alpa82
Thanks for your questions!

CWM/ EAP and Agile/SAFe Artifacts
You can find more information about how to create an EAP epic from a Demand here as a workaround:  https://www.servicenow.com/community/spm-articles/demand-to-eap-item-conversion-configuration/ta-p/3...
However this will be available out-of-the-box in the new Demand Workspace, which is planned for next year.

Project Workspace & CWM Connection
It's still possible to create stories aligned to agile phases and then you can use connected work to manage those stories in CWM. While currently you aren't able to see the agile phases from CWM, any changes you make to the stories in CWM will be reflected on the stories in the Project Workspace.

Hope that answers your questions!

Thank you @Irene5 for the answer.
Regarding the '..However this will be available out-of-the-box in the new Demand Workspace, which is planned for next year. '
Could you please share more information on

  • What functionality is planned for the new Demand Workspace?

  • Will it allow not only for management of demands and conversion to next objects( e.g. projects) , but also the creation of the demands?

  • In what release is the new Demand Workspace planned?

Thank you
