Hi

Did you ever wonder, how you can work with different users in one browser simultaneously, without impersonating so many times?

Instead of always switching back and forwards between the system administrator and the user, you like to work with (e.g. by impersonation), you can do much easier.

I personally use the Firefox Web Browser in the latest version on Windows. There is a Firefox PlugIn called "Multi-Account Container", which you can add to your browser using the hamburger menu (in Firefox) and select "Add-Ons".

In the search box, just type "Multi-Account" and hit <ENTER> to start the search.

You will find the Add-On shown in the screenshot below

Click on the text to show the details of the Add-On, and click on "Install" (or what the word in the English language may be - because I am using the german version).

Afterwards, you will find a new icon in the header bar of the Firefox browser, which allows you to open new tabs in the browser for a given context (see screenshot below).

Opening a new tab from one of the configured containers will open an isolated environment, where you can log on differently to ServiceNow (or any other Web Page). Colors indicate, to which container a given tab will belong to.

Now you can, for example, open one container and log in as System Administrator and open another tab (with a different container!), and log in as Beth Anglin. Now you do not need to switch users (by impersonation) each time.

Note: You need to use different containers to log-in differently. All tabs of the same container will share one user context (account).

Happy coding.

I too am strictly a FF user and with the introduction of containers, use them solely for this as well! Thanks for posting about it 😄

Hi xiaix

You are very welcome.

I am facing the fact, that I meet ServiceNow developers, who has been working for years on the platform and use different browsers and work on normal and incognito mode to come around.

But this small plug-in saves my day all the time.

Have fun and

BR Dirk
