Unleash your ideas and creativity and showcase your passion. We know you have ideas that’ll solve real business problems. CreatorCon Hackathon gives you the arena to bring your ideas to life.
You + the Now Platform = unlimited brilliance!
On May 8, from 3pm to 12midnight, the sky will be the limit at the CreatorCon Hackathon in Vegas. Teams of all types will converge to solve problems, create new tools, and push boundaries in an eight-hour quest for sweet prizes and unfettered glory. Any Knowledge18 attendee can register and participate in the hackathon.
You’ll be competing in one of three categories for a share of $6000 in prizes and the chance to star in a webinar that will be seen by the 200K+ strong ServiceNow developers worldwide.
Nine finalists will be selected on Tuesday, May 8th. Finalists will compete to be the grand winner in each category, May 10, on the Developer Theater stage. Winners will pitch and demo in front of a panel of luminary judges and enthusiastic audience.
The Hackathon isn’t just for developers. Anyone—folks with industry knowledge, designers, storytellers, project managers, business process analysts, scrum master, and everyday visionaries—can bring an application to life.
Join a team or go solo—your choice. You’ll learn, have fun, and meet great people. Winners will bring home exclusive hacker gear, prizes, endless adoration, and serious bragging rights.

Let's drill down a bit on the categories:
Business Solution: Apps that solve real business problems within an organization. Can they go into production? Can they be published on to ServiceNow Store?
Innovation: Apps that push the boundaries of ServiceNow Platform. How out-of-the-box are the apps? How technically impressive?
Social Good: Apps that help to create solutions for social problems. Are these software-driven social impact projects?
Judges will give the ultimate nod to apps that best exemplify innovation, awesomeness, impact, and user experience in each category.
What are we looking for?
Solve a difficult business problem that you/your team is facing at work or can imagine facing at work. This could be:
- Something that you haven't had time or cycles to address in your day-day work life
- Something super cool and high value that you've always wanted to try but never had the time or resources
The hackathon is the perfect opportunity for you to take a crack at it, with the latest ServiceNow Platform release and tools, plus ServiceNow gurus to speed you along your way.
Some examples to get you thinking:
- A broken process that is causing wasted time, user frustration, and unnecessary complexity
- A legacy app with a poor UX that is difficult to maintain
- A workflow that takes multiple apps and manual steps to complete
- Big, hairy, audacious app requests sitting in the backlog
- Repetitive tasks involving external systems and processes that take up more time than they should, that if automated would save big bucks, people time, and reduce errors
- Crazy things most people would never think about - standing up new physical storefronts or running a smart city, neighborhood, or building. You get the idea.
CreatorCon Hackathon will take place inside CreatorCon's Developer Hub located in the K18 Expo. CreatorCon is the event within the Knowledge conference.
