There are multiple ways to check the data location of your ServiceNow instance.

1. Go to /stats.do on your instance

2. Please check for "Connected to cluster node:"

3. You should see something like this - app130067.gva201.service-now.com:instancename002

You can check the sys_cluster_state table for the physical server's name (DB/nodes)?

EG: app130067.gva201.service-now.com:instancename002

*gva* ==> This should be the airport code of the data centre location in most cases

You can also use the Catalogue below from NowSupport, which will list the instance's IP and the datacenter location.

For the Production instance (with High Availability enabled), the datacenters will be listed as a pair, with one being primary and the other standby.

You can also move instance from one location to another -
Once the instance is provisioned and before going live, you can request an instance to be moved via your account reps/solution consultant. There can be costs involved, and this will be a long process where the instance will be restored in the target DC pair and then a replication is setup. On the start of change window, the instance on the source DC will be shutdown. Wait till the replication to be caught up on the target DC pair and then the instance is made UP on the target DC. This is possible and this requires lead time and planning. Sales will be the first point of contact as there will be $ involvement in this as well.

Once this is approved via sales/account, please create a case to customer support with the approval and the Infra team will initiate the movement.

There will be a downtime (up to an hour) so plan this in advance if it is a live instance.
