The problem was the service portal form locked up/wouldn't load/froze...
- When I tried to load the Service Portal form (portal > portals > service portal) I saw the top half of the form, then it appeared to lock up and I eventually (5 – 10 seconds) got an “unresponsive page” (Chrome) / “unresponsive script” (Edge) error – Chrome only offered an option to stop loading the page, Edge gave me the option to cancel the script which let me see the rest of the form.
- What I found when looking at the skipped updates was that the service portal’s ‘quick start config’ script was different in the Madrid version – it added a few lines of code at the bottom.
- What I ended up doing was clicking the resolve conflicts button on that skipped update, then viewing the quick start config in its own comparison window and copying the base script into the customized code, clicking OK then “Save Merge” which saved the quick start config into the customized version of the service portal page (I created an update set before doing this).
- That fixed the problem and allowed me to see the entire Service Portal form.
NOTE: This was upgrading a dev instance from Kingston to Madrid.
Let me know if you have any questions.
