New Survey Designer in Istanbul release

Hi All,

I just came across the new survey designer in the Istanbul release and found out some cool features that I want to share.

Previously, I heard a lot of customers requesting for the images or smileys to be introduced in the survey form and we faced huge difficulties in customizing them through UI pages.

However, the good news is, all the difficulties with the graphics in the survey forms have been taken care in the Istanbul release and adding smileys or images in the survey forms have been made OOB which is quite easy to configure.

I have created the below survey form with no customization and only configuration.

To configure this form you need to go through the below steps

1. Open the survey designer
2. Create a new survey
3. From the controls, add the image scale on the form

  4. Click on the "settings"   icon and go below to choices to add the images

  5. Upload your image in the form

6. You can also add templates by dragging the template option from the control menu

7. Then you can add your own template

8. My template for the smileys look something like this

Is there a way to change the color of the survey or highlight any fields in it?

I also wanted to add a logo and other things and I don't think that's available.

Hi Gina,

Sorry for my delayed response on this. I have found no OOB options to do that, but there is always an option to include a UI page in your survey to make them work as per your requirement.

Hi Arka, first of all   i thank you for all the detailed explanations regarding surveys. I created a survey with smiley faces but i can not include it in survey conditions so that it can generate a task survey record. Because in Survey Conditions you can call only surveys created in Legacy Surveys -> Masters. I tried to build the same survey (with smiley faces ) in Legacy Surveys -> Masters but here doesn't exist type 'Image Scale'. Could you please help me to resolve this.

Hello Arka,

I am not getting Smiley faces template in my company owned instance which is recently upgraded to Istanbul but this template is available in my personal developer instance.Exccept smiley faces template all template are present.

Should I have to create new smiley template in Assessment Metric Template table.

Yes you can create one and change the smiley faces based on your need

It means Smiley face template is not present OOB in upgrade instance.

Hi guys,

I'm late with my response but I hope to help you out with my solution.

I exported the untouched template + template definitions from my personal madrid dev-instance to get the smiley faces template.

See the attachment, to get the template.

I have 10 smiley images. 

I want them to be vertical ,

or horizontal but all 10 in single line. 

Can that be achieved?? 

Please help me.
