Whether you're a seasoned developer or a newcomer to the world of no-code solutions, #BuildWithCreatorStudio is your gateway to transforming your innovative ideas into real-world solutions. Ready to get creative and have some fun? Join us for our third year of this exciting challenge! 

What’s Creator Studio? 

Creator Studio is a no-code tool that lets you whip up apps fast, no waiting on IT. It’s perfect for those simple, request-based workflows that need to get done without the hassle. The best part? It’s easy to use and comes with built-in governance, so your apps stay compliant and good to go, without any extra effort on your end.

Already using App Engine Studio? No problem. Creator Studio plays nice with it, letting you knock out the simpler apps quickly while saving AES for the bigger, more complex projects. It’s all about giving you more control and flexibility in how you build. (Quick shoutout to our #BuildWithAES participants! Cheers to more skill-building!)

How Do I Enter?

Jumping into the #BuildWithCreatorStudio challenge is simple. Here's how you can get started:

1. Set Up Your PDI (Personal Developer Instance): If you don't already have Creator Studio in your environment, go to your ServiceNow Developer Portal and either log into or spin up a PDI. It’s free and easy! Just make sure you install Creator Studio.

2. Build Your App: Now’s the time to create! Feel free to let your imagination run wild or keep it simple.

3. Share Your Build: When your app is complete, submit a 300-word description, a video, or an infographic that explains what your app does, and your experience using Creator Studio. Be sure to share it on both in the comments of this blog and on social media using #BuildWithCreatorStudio

Then sit back, relax, and wait for your swag redemption email!

• Where Do I Enter? 
  • To enter, you must follow the guidelines and respond to this Community blog post. You must include links to your content as well as links to where you shared on social media with #BuildWithCreatorStudio hashtagged. 

• Where and What Do I Post on Community? 
  • You’re in the right place! Simply log into your ServiceNow Community account. At the bottom of this blog, you will see an area to comment. This is where you can input your proof of completing the challenge using Creator Studio use along with a description of what you’ve built.  

• Where and What Do I Post on Social Media? 
  • You can post on any social media platform, whether it’s LinkedIn or Twitter, and share your completed app and Creator Studio imagery/experience.  

• What if I Don’t Have Social Media? 
  • Not to worry! Please send an email to BuildWith@servicenow.com, and we will contact you to get you your swag. Please refrain from emailing your entries to this address! We are monitoring the comments for your submissions. 😀

• When Will I Receive My Swag? 
  • When you complete the challenge, you can expect an email in a few weeks from ServiceNow with the subject line #BuildWithCreatorStudio Redemption. Enclosed there will be a link to our Developer Swag Store and a code to which you can redeem your mug. Based on the address you provide; your mug will ship there. If you are located outside the USA, please expect a longer shipping time. Swag is limited to while supplies last.

• You're not alone! Everyone was once a beginner, and there's no better time to dive in than now.   • No submission form is required! Just follow the guidelines above and you are good to go! 

• When Does the Challenge End? 
  • To receive swag, you must submit your challenge entry by October 8th, 2024 at 11:59 PM PST. However, you are welcome to continue sharing your apps past this date.  

• Who is Eligible to Enter the Challenge? 
  • We invite everyone aged 18 and above to join us! Whether you're an absolute beginner or an experienced Creator Studio user, your contribution is valued! Terms and Conditions 

No purchase is necessary. #BuildWithCreatorStudio Challenge is open only to individuals at least eighteen (18) years old at the time of entry. The Challenge begins September 8, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. Pacific Daylight Time ("PDT") and ends on October 8, 2024, at 11:59 p.m. PDT. 

Entrants must respond to the official forum with a 1) Screenshot, graphic, or video showing their app built using Creator Studio or 2) a 300 minimum word description of the app they built with a screenshot using Creator Studio AND entrants must post their video or blog into the ServiceNow Community Developer forum here AND share it on LinkedIn or Twitter with #BuildWithCreatorStudio Challenge on their post AND the social media post will be linked to their forum post.  

The Submission must be your own, original work; The Submission must contain a relevant reason/response to the prompt of Creator Studio; The Submission must meet the format and size requirements of the social platform used to enter; The Submission must conform with any applicable social media platform terms. 

The prize includes the official 2024 #BuildWithCreatorStudio Mug, while supplies last. Government employees are excluded from receiving the mug but can participate in the challenge. The brand of mug may vary. Mug may take up to 4 weeks or longer to arrive once ordered. Approximate Retail Value (“ARV”): $15 USD. 

The ServiceNow Community reserves the right to access email data provided by the entrant in order to reach out to individuals who have completed the challenge. Entrants who have met the guidelines and have successfully completed the challenge will receive an email from ServiceNow with instructions on how to redeem the prize. International country restrictions will apply.

I'm excited to share my experience participating in the hashtag

Using ServiceNow Creator Studio, I developed a Movie Ticket Selling application that makes the theatre's easier to sell their tickets by offering group Price Offers. The app leverages a Record Producer to allow users to avail for group ticket offer and playbook sends a notification to Theatre group and they can either approval
or reject the offer request.

I am excited to share my submission for the #BuildWithCreatorStudio Challenge!
I've built a very simple app "Last Minute Ticket Sale" to address the common issue of last-minute ticket cancellations for events, such as training sessions. When events have limited seating and tickets are sold out, some people may miss the chance to attend. If a user can’t make it to the event and is unable to cancel their ticket in time, they can fill out a ticket sale request form, which triggers an email notification to all users in the organization.

Excited to share I completed the BuildWithCreatorStudio Challenge!

I developed a Conference Room Request Service Catalog in ServiceNow, aimed at streamlining the process of booking and managing conference rooms. This service catalog item is a game-changer for our organization, automating the entire workflow from room booking submission to approval and confirmation. Users can now easily specify their room preferences, date, and time through an intuitive interface.

The catalog item ensures all requests are consistent, complete, and routed correctly for manager approvals. Real-time status updates and notifications keep users informed about their room booking status. Leveraging ServiceNow's powerful workflow engine, I was able to design a solution that enhances meeting room utilization and reduces scheduling conflicts, improving overall office efficiency.

I'm happy to share the app I built for the #BuildWithCreatorStudio challenge:

A Hospital Appointment Booking application! This simple yet effective app streamlines the process for patients to request time off.

Once submitted, the request and mail is automatically routed to the doctor for approval. If approved, a task is generated to ensure the patient about the appointment details through email.

Building this app was incredibly easy. Its drag-and-drop interface allowed me to quickly design the form and automate the workflow without writing any code. The result is a fully functional app that enhances communication, simplifies approvals, and ensures work continuity during time off.

It aims to streamline the approval process by capturing essential details such as the course name, provider, duration, cost, and the anticipated benefits to both the employee and the organization.It provides real-time status tracking, notifications, and platform analytics for continuous improvement.

I’m excited to share that I’ve successsfully completed #BuildWithCreatorStudio Challenge! As part of this experience, I’ve developed the "Timesheet Submission" App a no-code solution built on ServiceNow to simplify the employee Timesheet Submission process.

How the Timesheet Submission App Works
1. Easy Timesheet Submission:
Employees can easily submit their working hours using a simple form, making sure all important information is included. This removes the need for manual data entry.

2. Manager Approval:
Once the timesheet is submitted, it is automatically routed to the employee's manager for approval. The app ensures that managers receive timely notifications to prevent delays and make the approval process more efficient.

3. Automated Notifications:
Throughout the submission and approval process, automated notifications keep both employees and managers informed, reducing communication gaps. Employees can track their submission status in real time, and managers can easily review, approve, or reject submissions.

I've developed the "Test Drive Request" app to address the common pain points in booking vehicle test drives. Scheduling a test drive often involves long phone calls, back-and-forth emails, or missed appointments. My app simplifies the entire process, making it easier for customers to book their desired vehicle and preferred time slot in just a few clicks!

How does it work?
Submit Request: The user fills out a simple form, selecting the vehicle they want to test, their preferred dealership, and an available time slot that fits their schedule.

Instant Notifications: After submission, the app sends an instant confirmation email to the customer, confirming the test drive details. At the same time, a notification is triggered to the dealership, alerting them of the new test drive request.

Dealership Management: The dealership receives the request in their system and can view all scheduled test drives in an organized calendar, making it easier to manage appointments and avoid conflicts.

Test Drive Day: On the day of the test drive, both the customer and the dealership are prepared, minimizing any confusion or missed opportunities.

This app saves time, reduces hassle, and improves the overall customer experience. It’s a win-win for both customers and dealerships!
