What’s Creator Studio?

Creator Studio is a no-code tool that lets you whip up apps fast, no waiting on IT. It’s perfect for those simple, request-based workflows that need to get done without the hassle. The best part? It’s easy to use and comes with built-in governance, so your apps stay compliant and good to go, without any extra effort on your end.

Already using App Engine Studio? No problem. Creator Studio plays nice with it, letting you knock out the simpler apps quickly while saving AES for the bigger, more complex projects. How Do I Enter?

Jumping into the #BuildWithCreatorStudio challenge is simple. Here's how you can get started:

Set Up Your PDI (Personal Developer Instance): If you don't already have Creator Studio in your environment, go to your ServiceNow Developer Portal and either log into or spin up a PDI. It’s free and easy! Just make sure you install Creator Studio.
Build Your App: Now’s the time to create! Feel free to let your imagination run wild or keep it simple.
Share Your Build: When your app is complete, submit a 300-word description, a video, or an infographic that explains what your app does, and your experience using Creator Studio. Be sure to share it on both in the comments of this blog and on social media using #BuildWithCreatorStudio

Where Do I Enter?

Where and What Do I Post on Community?
- You’re in the right place! Simply log into your ServiceNow Community account. At the bottom of this blog, you will see an area to comment. This is where you can input your proof of completing the challenge using Creator Studio use along with a description of what you’ve built.

Where and What Do I Post on Social Media?
- You can post on any social media platform, whether it’s LinkedIn or Twitter, and share your completed app and Creator Studio imagery/experience.

What if I Don’t Have Social Media?

When Will I Receive My Swag?
- When you complete the challenge, you can expect an email in a few weeks from ServiceNow with the subject line #BuildWithCreatorStudio Redemption. Enclosed there will be a link to our Developer Swag Store and a code to which you can redeem your mug. Based on the address you provide; your mug will ship there. If you are located outside the USA, please expect a longer shipping time. Swag is limited to while supplies last.

When Does the Challenge End?
- To receive swag, you must submit your challenge entry by October 8th, 2024 at 11:59 PM PST. However, you are welcome to continue sharing your apps past this date.

Who is Eligible to Enter the Challenge?
- We invite everyone aged 18 and above to join us! Whether you're an absolute beginner or an experienced Creator Studio user, your contribution is valued! Sadly, our legal guy informs us that while government employees may participate, they are ineligible for the mug reward. (Terms and Conditions apply.)

Terms and Conditions

No purchase is necessary. #BuildWithCreatorStudio Challenge is open only to individuals at least eighteen (18) years old at the time of entry. The Challenge begins September 8, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. Pacific Daylight Time ("PDT") and ends on October 8, 2024, at 11:59 p.m. PDT.

Entrants must respond to the official forum with a 1) Screenshot, graphic, or video showing their app built using Creator Studio or 2) a 300 minimum word description of the app they built with a screenshot using Creator Studio AND entrants must post their video or blog into the ServiceNow Community Developer forum here AND share it on LinkedIn or Twitter with #BuildWithCreatorStudio Challenge on their post AND the social media post will be linked to their forum post.

The Submission must be your own, original work; The Submission must contain a relevant reason/response to the prompt of Creator Studio; The Submission must meet the format and size requirements of the social platform used to enter; The Submission must conform with any applicable social media platform terms.

The prize includes the official 2024 #BuildWithCreatorStudio Mug, while supplies last. Government employees are excluded from receiving the mug but can participate in the challenge. The brand of mug may vary. Mug may take up to 4 weeks or longer to arrive once ordered. Approximate Retail Value (“ARV”): $15 USD.

The ServiceNow Community reserves the right to access email data provided by the entrant in order to reach out to individuals who have completed the challenge. Entrants who have met the guidelines and have successfully completed the challenge will receive an email from ServiceNow with instructions on how to redeem the prize. International country restrictions will apply.

Except where prohibited, participation in the Challenge constitutes each entrant's consent to use submission’s name, and photograph (including, without limitation, entrant’s Twitter and LinkedIn profile photo), voice, opinions and/or hometown and state for promotional purposes in any media, worldwide, without further payment or consideration.

I am excited to share that I have successfully completed the #BuildWithCreatorStudio challenge!

I have built a Finance Assistant App using Creator Studio. This app provides flexible options in providing micro-loans for immediate and unplanned financial needs. This empowers the employees with the ability to secure a micro-loan with ease, ensuring you have financial support readily available whenever necessity strikes.

With this solution, the employees can submit requests for the loan/financial assistance they need, in just a few clicks.

The request form captures all the relevant details, such as details of employee, department, designation, loan amount required, the date and time needed defining over what period of time they are planning to repay, and any special instructions.
Once submitted, the request is automatically routed to an approval group. This ensures that requests are reviewed and validated quickly by the appropriate decision-makers. Upon approval, the system creates a task for the fulfilment team to take an action, ensuring the requested equipment is delivered on time.
The best part is that the employee receive notifications at every step of the process, from the initial submission to the final approval or rejection, keeping them fully informed without the need for back-and-forth emails.

Creator Studio is such an amazing application that made it possible with its no-code solution interface, that helped me to build a proper functioning application within minutes!

I am happy to join #BuildWithCreatorStudio challenge

I’m excited to be testing the amazing tool, Creator Studio, which is part of the ServiceNow platform. It’s truly a fantastic solution that makes creating applications easy and enjoyable without requiring advanced technological or programming knowledge. Thanks to tools like these, software creation is becoming democratized, allowing anyone to bring their ideas to life in a very easy, intuitive way that doesn’t take much time. This is definitely a tool that maximizes human creativity. I’m very impressed and have had a very positive experience working with Creator Studio.

With its help, I managed to create an application for organizing trips. It includes a checklist feature with essential points for planning longer trips. You can fill it with a lot of information that will be useful during your travels. The app allows you to save details such as hotels, their addresses, travel directions, transportation options, prices—making it easier to plan a budget by tracking expenses and viewing currency exchange rates. There’s also a place for scheduling and saving information about tourist attractions worth visiting, with links to useful information about them.

In a very short time, I created a useful tool that simplifies planning and can be used in many situations by travelers. ServiceNow excels at organizing and structuring tasks. I think in the future, I could connect this app with several APIs and artificial intelligence, which would make it even more functional.

Once again, ServiceNow proves that it is a leader in its field, introducing innovations that are easily accessible to everyone. Working with this platform is a pleasure for me, and I love discovering new features that expand the ecosystem of this unique platform.

I encourage everyone—regardless of your profession—to try your hand at software creation using Creator Studio. It’s really easy and doesn’t require specialized knowledge. I’m sure you’ve had ideas for an app that could improve your life or processes in your organization—now you can implement something like that yourself, it won’t take much time, and I guarantee it will be great fun.

Excited to share that I completed the #BuildWithCreatorStudio Challenge!

I built a Expense Reimbursement App using creator studio, designed to streamline how expense requests are submitted, approved and tracked. The entire process is automated, from request submission to multi-level approvals (which include manager and CFO approvals) with real time status tracking and request completion notification. With the drag and drop functionality, creator studio definitely made the process of building the app UI pretty quick. Being able to create automation workflows with some preset functionality is also very handy and allowed me to setup the app as per my needs. Overall the experience was very smooth and I am sure it will enable a lot of departments to offload their manual process into a simple but powerful system driven ones.

Hi @laurenmcman ,

Finally created my own app using amazing ServiceNow creator studio!

The app provides seamless flow to make investments starting from minimalistic amounts and allows users to gain confidence and go ahead to build the money amounts and make huge savings with all the real time information and suggestions of various types of portfolios allowing them easily to put their money in.

After thorough validation and approvals, investments are saved and the user wouldnt even see any such actions.

Creator studio is a serious savior for all types of developers and makes work very interesting and joyous !

Application Name- Discharge Now-It helps patients and their family with hassle free discharge process from hospital.

Quick Overview -Discharge Now is a simple application designed to improve the discharge process of the patient by ensuring they got proper transport arrangements from hospital to home and patients received all the prescribed medicines and repots on time.

How It Works: Once the Discharge form filled by the hospital nurse with the required details like prescribed medicine details and patient and doctor details ,it will trigger the approval for assigned doctor. Once the doctor approved ,it will create tasks to the hospital transport team to arrange the transport for the patient and prepare prescribed medicines package for patient to collect while discharge from the hospital. Once tasks updated by respective team the patient will receive the mail confirmations.

Key Benefits:

Improves the discharge process of patient from hospital.
Patients and their family members can track the process and it will reduce the last minute hassle for them.
Hospital pharmacy and Hospital Transport team can plan their tasks effectively.
We can add tasks to hospital admin department to prepare final reports and much more.
It provides real time status tracking and analytics and we can add parallel tasks and all.

ServiceNow Creator Studio made it easy for me to develop this idea as a fully functioning app without any coding.

Hi Everyone,
I am happy to share my idea for #BuildWithCreatorStudio challenge.

I tried this by creating a simple application named 'Annual Celebration Management'.

This application, developed using ServiceNow Creator Studio, streamlines the registration process for families wishing to attend the annual event where they can have a fun time and some tasty food together once in a year. Family heads can easily submit their details, including full name, email address, and the number of senior citizens and children in their household. Additionally, they can specify their preferred food choices, ensuring a personalized experience.

Once submitted, the registration request is routed to the management committee for review. To prevent overcrowding, a maximum of eight entries per family is allowed. Upon evaluation, the committee can either approve or reject the registration. If approved, the requester receives a confirmation email, granting them access to the event. In the event of rejection, a detailed email is sent, outlining the reasons and providing the committee's email address for any inquiries.

It was amazing to utilize those low-code/no-code capabilities enabled in Creator Studio.

I’m excited to share that I’ve developed a Facilities-Complaint Register App for the
hashtag#BuildWithCreatorStudio challenge! 🚀
Using this app, residents, can easily raise issues, complaints for anything not working in their surroundings including their home.. Here's how it works:
* The complaint is raised by the residents and routed to the facility manager for the selected location.
* After review, the complaint is passed to the respective teams like plumbing, electricians for the selected location.
* If the complaint urgency shows "security concerns", a notification get triggered to facility security team and a task gets created for them
*All the complaints have different SLAs and user confirmation is taken before resolution.

Building this app with hashtag#CreatorStudio was incredibly easy. Its drag-and-drop interface allowed me to quickly design the form and automate the workflow—all without writing a single line of code!

I built a simple Yog Abhyas Center app using Creator Studio, is designed to create seamless & efficient platform for individuals passionate about yoga to join a thriving community.
This app provides users with the opportunity to nominate themselves and become part of the Yog Abhyas center where we are offering online webinars, contributing to a holistic approach to wellness through yoga practice.

Key Features-
1. User Nomination: The core feature of the Yog Abhyas Online Webinar Center app is the ability for users to nominate themselves. By filling out a simple form, users can provide their interest, session timing, date and submit.
2.Task Creation: Task will create for approval.
3.Approval Process: Once a nomination is submitted, it goes through review process by the approval
4.Automated Email Notification: If a user's nomination is approved, they receive an acceptance email, welcoming them to Yog Abhyas online webinar center with all the details, if a nomination is rejected the user receives a rejection email along with a message encouraging them to try again in the future.

I am excited to share that I have successfully completed the #BuildWithCreatorStudio challenge!
I have created a HealthCheck Scheduler App using Creator Studio. This innovative app is designed to help individuals effortlessly manage and schedule their regular health check tests , empowering users to take control of their health and never miss an important appointment.
With this solution, users can easily submit requests for upcoming health screenings, tests with just a few clicks. The request form captures all essential details, including the type of test and the appointment date.

Additionally, the system sends out timely reminders at critical intervals
7 days, 3 days, and 1 day before the scheduled appointment. This ensures users are well-informed and prepared, eliminating the stress of last-minute preparations.

Once the request is approved, users receive notifications to remind them of their scheduled appointments, providing them with all the necessary information right at their fingertips.

Thanks to Creator Studio's intuitive no-code solution interface, I was able to build a fully functional application in no time!
