Whether you're a seasoned developer or a newcomer to the world of no-code solutions, #BuildWithCreatorStudio is your gateway to transforming your innovative ideas into real-world solutions. Ready to get creative and have some fun? Join us for our third year of this exciting challenge! 

What’s Creator Studio? 

Creator Studio is a no-code tool that lets you whip up apps fast, no waiting on IT. It’s perfect for those simple, request-based workflows that need to get done without the hassle. The best part? It’s easy to use and comes with built-in governance, so your apps stay compliant and good to go, without any extra effort on your end.

Already using App Engine Studio? No problem. Creator Studio plays nice with it, letting you knock out the simpler apps quickly while saving AES for the bigger, more complex projects. It’s all about giving you more control and flexibility in how you build. (Quick shoutout to our #BuildWithAES participants! Cheers to more skill-building!)

How Do I Enter?

Jumping into the #BuildWithCreatorStudio challenge is simple. Here's how you can get started:

1. Set Up Your PDI (Personal Developer Instance): If you don't already have Creator Studio in your environment, go to your ServiceNow Developer Portal and either log into or spin up a PDI. It’s free and easy! Just make sure you install Creator Studio.

2. Build Your App: Now’s the time to create! Feel free to let your imagination run wild or keep it simple.

3. Share Your Build: When your app is complete, submit a 300-word description, a video, or an infographic that explains what your app does, and your experience using Creator Studio. Be sure to share it on both in the comments of this blog and on social media using #BuildWithCreatorStudio

Then sit back, relax, and wait for your swag redemption email!

• Where Do I Enter? 
  • To enter, you must follow the guidelines and respond to this Community blog post. You must include links to your content as well as links to where you shared on social media with #BuildWithCreatorStudio hashtagged. 

• Where and What Do I Post on Community? 
  • You’re in the right place! Simply log into your ServiceNow Community account. At the bottom of this blog, you will see an area to comment. This is where you can input your proof of completing the challenge using Creator Studio use along with a description of what you’ve built.  

• Where and What Do I Post on Social Media? 
  • You can post on any social media platform, whether it’s LinkedIn or Twitter, and share your completed app and Creator Studio imagery/experience.  

• What if I Don’t Have Social Media? 
  • Not to worry! Please send an email to BuildWith@servicenow.com, and we will contact you to get you your swag. Please refrain from emailing your entries to this address! We are monitoring the comments for your submissions. 😀

• When Will I Receive My Swag? 
  • When you complete the challenge, you can expect an email in a few weeks from ServiceNow with the subject line #BuildWithCreatorStudio Redemption. Enclosed there will be a link to our Developer Swag Store and a code to which you can redeem your mug. Based on the address you provide; your mug will ship there. If you are located outside the USA, please expect a longer shipping time. Swag is limited to while supplies last.

  • No submission form is required! Just follow the guidelines above and you are good to go! 

• When Does the Challenge End? 
  • To receive swag, you must submit your challenge entry by October 8th, 2024 at 11:59 PM PST. However, you are welcome to continue sharing your apps past this date.  

• Who is Eligible to Enter the Challenge? 
  • We invite everyone aged 18 and above to join us! Whether you're an absolute beginner or an experienced Creator Studio user, your contribution is valued! Sadly, our legal guy informs us that while government employees may participate, they are ineligible for the mug reward. (Terms and Conditions apply.)

Terms and Conditions 

No purchase is necessary. #BuildWithCreatorStudio Challenge is open only to individuals at least eighteen (18) years old at the time of entry. The Challenge begins September 8, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. Pacific Daylight Time ("PDT") and ends on October 8, 2024, at 11:59 p.m. PDT. 

Entrants must respond to the official forum with a 1) Screenshot, graphic, or video showing their app built using Creator Studio or 2) a 300 minimum word description of the app they built with a screenshot using Creator Studio AND entrants must post their video or blog into the ServiceNow Community Developer forum here AND share it on LinkedIn or Twitter with #BuildWithCreatorStudio Challenge on their post AND the social media post will be linked to their forum post.  

The Submission must be your own, original work; The Submission must contain a relevant reason/response to the prompt of Creator Studio; The Submission must meet the format and size requirements of the social platform used to enter; The Submission must conform with any applicable social media platform terms. 

The prize includes the official 2024 #BuildWithCreatorStudio Mug, while supplies last. Government employees are excluded from receiving the mug but can participate in the challenge. The brand of mug may vary. Mug may take up to 4 weeks or longer to arrive once ordered. Approximate Retail Value (“ARV”): $15 USD. 

The ServiceNow Community reserves the right to access email data provided by the entrant in order to reach out to individuals who have completed the challenge. Entrants who have met the guidelines and have successfully completed the challenge will receive an email from ServiceNow with instructions on how to redeem the prize. International country restrictions will apply.

I have developed an innovative application using ServiceNow Studio to streamline and simplify the complex referral program process. Here are some key highlights of the application:
 Portal Submission: Employees can easily submit their referral requests through a user-friendly catalog item.
 Instant Acknowledgement: Upon submission, an automatic acknowledgement email is sent to the employee, ensuring they are informed and engaged.
HR Task Creation: A task is instantly created for the HR team to review the referral, complete with an approval activity to ensure a thorough evaluation process.
Seamless Approval Process: Once approved, the candidate is onboarded smoothly, with all necessary tracking tasks created to monitor the process.
🎉 Reward Notification: The referring employee receives a reward email, recognizing their contribution and encouraging further participation in the referral program.

🚀 Excited to Share My Latest Project! 🚀

I recently had the opportunity to participate in the #BuildWithCreatorStudio challenge, and it was an incredible learning experience! 🎉

As part of the challenge, I built a Peripheral Order Application that streamlines the process of ordering and managing peripheral devices. From improving inventory management to enhancing the user experience, this app is designed to simplify tasks and boost productivity.

💡 This project pushed me to sharpen my skills in Creator Studio. This is a great Module to create a ready to deploy application if your requirement is a simple and no code code application.

A huge shoutout to the amazing community and mentors for their support! 🙌
Looking forward to the next challenge and continuing to build solutions that matter!

Just for fun and to touch the new functionality I have completed the #BuildWithCreatorStudio Challenge,

I built a simple Money Exchange App using Creator Studio, it's designed to streamline how money exchange requests are submitted, approved, and tracked. The entire process is automated, from request submissions to approvals, with real-time status tracking and notifications. Creator Studio made it easy to bring this idea to life with its intuitive interface, allowing me to quickly set up workflows and customize the app to meet needs,

I would like to point out that this is very simple for simple applications.

Creating this post took more time than building an app, 😅

An easy way for users to request new IT hardware with appropriate approval:

1. User submits IT Hardware Request form.
2. Requestor manager is required to approve request.
3. If approved, email is sent to requestor and a new order is created.
4. If rejected, email is sent to requestor and no order is created.

Today, I embraced the #BuildWithCreatorStudio challenge by developing a 'Movie Review App' tailored for fellow movie enthusiasts. This innovative app, created using ServiceNow's Creator Studio, allows users to rate, review, and recommend movies through a user-friendly interface.

Participants can select a movie from a list, share their feedback, and await approval. Once approved, users receive a confirmation email, enhancing the interactive experience.

Excited to share that I’ve completed the #BuildWithCreatorStudio challenge ! 🎉

I’ve built a Lost & Found application that streamlines the process of retrieving lost belongings within the office campus. The user-friendly request form allows staff to easily submit their requests to the facility admin team. Once submitted, the request goes through the manager’s approval process. Upon approval, a task is created for the facility admin team to check if they have the lost item. This task helps them verify whether the request is legitimate. If confirmed, the item is then delivered to the requestor’s address. And, of course, if the requestor wants to personally thank the person who found and submitted the lost item, we can share their contact details via email.

While the application may look simple, I’m still amazed that I was able to build it within just a few minutes using Creator Studio. It’s such an easy and powerful tool. Huge kudos to the ServiceNow team! 👏

I created a 'Hospital bed request' application using Creator Studio. It was a no-code, user-friendly way of creating an application for my use case.

Introduction: The hospital bed request form enables patients to conveniently submit requests for various categories of rooms in the hospital. This streamlines the process and ensures to provide seamless booking.

Goal: To streamline the process of requesting a room in the hospital, ensuring efficient booking and room management.

Use Case: The Hospital admission application allows patients to easily request room booking. It streamlines the booking process by enabling patients to enter registration number and it fills the patients detail automatically. The app also manages approval workflows and maintains records for room booking.
Creator Studio made it effortless to quickly turn this app's no-code solution interface into a reality.

Super excited to share that I have completed the #BuildWithCreatorStudio challenge!

I have developed an application for storing Employees' luggage in the Office premises. This application can be used by any employee who has luggage with him/her but want to work from office at the same time. Instead of keeping the luggage anywhere, the employee can raise a request for locker room in the Office premises itself. In this application, employee has to fill in Employee ID, the date and time employee has to drop in the luggage and pick up time for the luggage from the locker room.

Once Request is submitted, it will be auto triggered to Security and Facilities team of the Premises. After approval by the Security and Facilities group, the requestor will get an email for the locker availability of luggage. Similarly, if the request is rejected by the Security and Facilities team, the requestor will get Unavailability of locker email.

Creator Studio helped me create this application in very lesser time and making it more interesting especially by the automated and easy to use workflows
