Hi All,
Today we will cover what are the important points to know about Automated Indicator.
Automated Indicator gets the scores calculated from its own Indicator Source. Indicator source needs to have frequency defined in it.
- How does the frequency of Indicator source populate?
Answer: Indicator Source doesn't have the option to select the frequency while creation. So, the question here is how the frequency populates in Indicator Source. Answer is "It comes from the indicator, by default the frequency of Indicator gets copied to the Indicator Source". E.g. if the frequency of Indicator is "Monthly" then the indicator source frequency is set to "Monthly" by the system.
- Is it important to have the date/time condition in Indicator Source. If yes, then why?
Answer: Answer is "YES". We need to have the Date/Time conditions defined in Indicator Source as based on that it segregates the data. e.g. created on this Month if the frequency is Monthly. Make sure you should put the condition based on frequency.
Take an example,
If you want to see the data in Monthly, then you define the frequency Monthly However if you put the condition "Created on today" then Indicator sources give you the result day-to-day wise however the frequency is monthly so it will create the confusion to divide and distribute the data wisely.
Every Indicator Source has a DATE condition built on a Date/Time field such as: Created, Opened, Updated, Resolved, Closed. During collection, the dynamic Today operator is replaced by the current date
- How to relate these Indicator/Indicator Source to the Collector Jobs?
Answer: You have to create the collector job for every Indicator. Now remember Jobs are only created for Automated Indicator not for Formula Indicator.
You need to have 2 jobs created against every Indicator i.e. Daily Job and Historical Job Collection.
