Access Location based catalog item by specific role user

Hi All,

In our system all Catalog Items are restricted to user's specific location. And if a user belong to that location then he/she can able to access those items.

However, we have a requirement to make these all catalog items to available for a specific role users regardless to location restriction. 

Could anyone of you please let me know what is the best way to achieve this with less customisation and considering the best practice of SN.

Check if the catalog items are using the same user criteria (Available for/Not Available for), then you can simply add the roles you want.

The best Approach is by using user criteria.

While creating the criteria you can mention or add both location and roles , like below:

You can achieve this by using user criteria and in there just provide the role for which you want to make that catalog item visible and that's it and add the same user criteria to all the catalog items as per your requirement.

Also just want to confirm that whether you still going to use the previous functionality to show the items based on locations if yes then you might need to consider that point as well and let me know how you were implemented this previous functionality , like with the user criteria only or with something else, if you already have the user criteria then you can keep the same record and just add the role as well along with the location so this will work for both either role or location will be needed.
