Activity log: how to ensure that HTML is always used instead of Raw Text

Hello, we are looking to track an HTML field in the Activity log.  But here is what we are seeing:

 

When we go into the ticket we see this:

We go into the Filter Activity and unselect the HTML field and reselect it. The moment we reselect it, it goes into HTML format that the HTML field uses.  See here:

Is there any way for the ticket to always default to the HTML view?

 

Originally, we were planning on making a text-only copy of this field and setting the Filter Activity to include that field instead.  But if we can show the proper HTML format, I'm good with that as well.
