Add announcement message in Platform(Native) UI

Hi All,

I was able to add announcement messages to service portal using "SP Announcement" as shown below.

But I would like to have similar functionality in Platform UI also.

I went through below thread but it seems it is applicable to service portal only as we will be updating header widget there.

Got it working.

we need to update the user preference with name 'overview_help.visited.help_page_name' as false.

I tried above method to show announcment similar to you requirement but no success.

Could you please guide or provided details what did you do to show announcment on native platform?

Hi Narendra,

There was OOTB overview with name Helsinki (App Navigator > System UI > Overview Help). We inactivated existing panels under Helsinki and created new as per our requirement.

In text field of panel form, we can give HTML also. 

and please make sure to delete/make value as false for "overview_help.visited.helsinki" user preference (App Navigator > User administration > user preference).

Hi Ahmmed,

I don't see any OOB active field in Overview Panel form. I created one custom field, but it doesn't seem to be working though I set other Helsinki overview panels to false and keep the custom one as true. Any insights on this one? We have similar requirement as well.

Hi Chaithra,

The overview help records do not have active field. Their visibility is controlled by user preference.

for ex: for OOTB helsinki overview help, the user preference with name "overview_help.visited.helsinki" will decide its appearance. we can show the overview help at global level by updating the preference to false for the record where user field is empty, or we can create the same preference for particular user also.
