Add attachments for public users

Hi,
We have built a record producer and published it on an external web form. The record producer is set to public and everything works fine except adding attachments.
ServiceNow support just told me that attachment upload is limited to logged in users for security reasons.
First problem seen is that the attachment dialog box is staying indefintely becase the "attachment" page is not set as public. I guess this can be fixed by setting the "attachment" page as a public page, following http://wiki.servicenow.com/index.php?title=Making_a_Page_Public#Making_a_Page_Public
However, this will only go a single step because we will still fail not able to add the attachment because adding attachments is limited to only logged in user for security reasons. Have any one made this (or similar) customization?

Been down that road...record producer for external public user but can't submit an attachment. This is text ended up using. Also hoping a someone has customization for this.
'Check the box if you want to be notified by email regarding your request or need to attach an image or documentation about your request. Simply reply to the email you receive and attach your image or document to your reply. This will automatically add your attachment to your new request.'
