Add Link to another catalog item

I've seen several posts on this but nothing that made sense or was accurately answered recently. I want to add a link to another catalog item if a certain selection is chosen. i have a request form for software, if a certain software is selected then I want a link to appear to another catalog item to submit a separate request. This seems to not be an easy thing which is very surprising since you can add it to the description.

Thank you! I think I'm almost there but I am getting an error when entering the URL that points to the catalog item. I tried adding the ';' in several different places but cannot get the error to go away

Please mark responses as Helpful along the way if they've been, thus far, there's been quite some nice and helpful posts here as this is going on.

Please use link like:

<a href="/sp?id=sc_cat_item&amp;sys_id=XXXXXXXX">link text</a>

So we cut out the specific instance being called and changed up the link format to work.

Ideally...you'd want to use the back-end link to that specific catalog item and not the portal, right? So back-end people go to back-end view and portal go to portal right?

Please double-check that's where you want to send them because this UI Page is visible only for back-end users.

Everything is working well except the link for the backend (UI Page). How should the URL be formatted? It keeps routing to the homepage and not to the actually catalog item.

Hi,

Again, please mark posts as Helpful, if they are as we go along. Thanks!

As I mentioned...you'll need to navigate to that catalog item in the back-end UI...and get the url for it? Only you know that information. Then use that URL or at the least...use the url part after the .com in service-now.com and start it with /nav_doXXXXXX etc. (just an example).

Something like:

/nav_to.do?uri=%2Fcom.glideapp.servicecatalog_cat_item_view.do%3Fv%3D1%26sysparm_id%3D2bae410d2fa7c850e25a59a72799b652

I have marked your other responses as helpful.

Thanks for your help but I unable to get the backend link to work. I have tried both URLs below, for the UI page and it just circles back to the homepage and does not direct to the catalog item.

/nav_to.do?uri=%2Fcom.glideapp.servicecatalog_cat_item_view.do%3Fv%3D1%26sysparm_id%3Da9422a491b5c7344ae9b4002dd4bcb5f%26sysparm_link_parent%3Df77942d11b4c73c0ae9b4002dd4bcb5b%26sysparm_catalog%3De0d08b13c3330100c8b837659bba8fb4%26sysparm_catalog_view%3Dcatalog_default%26sysparm_view%3Dcatalog_default

And

/nav_to.do?uri=%2Fcom.glideapp.servicecatalog_cat_item_view.do%3Fv%3D1%26sysparm_id%3Da9422a491b5c7344ae9b4002dd4bcb5f
