Dear community,
I was really impressed with the support available within this community and have been trying to solve an issue. I was asked to add a field to a record producer and make it mandatory sop appears in the required information tab. I could not find an article on this on the forum and figured it would be worth asking the question if anyone else had come across something similar.
I have added the field, location with the label of district and configured this to be mandatory. I get the star indicating it is mandatory but it is not a red one and as such the new field does not appear in the required information box
I have been trying to figure this one out for some time now, I had not been involved in the original build and cannot see how this is configured, below are the details of the current directorate field that does appear.
Is this controlled from somewhere else? Do any of you know where to find any information on how to configure fields on a record producer so they appear in the required information tab??
Many thanks again, will continue to look at tis and will post an update if I manage to figure it out .
Many thanks,
Nathan

Hello @Nathan Billing
On your first picture, the reason district is not showing in the required information is because its already filled out with data.
On the picture its shown as "Auckland" (I guess this might be the default value or because you didnt add "None" to the variable.
Under Type specification on the Variable i advise you to click "Include none". Which will make it look mandatory and make the user have to make an active choice and it will be shown in the "Required information"

It looks like UI Policies/Client scripts are setting the fields to Mandatory. Please check if there are any client scripts or UI policies present.

Hey that did work a treat, have added the none as option and it now appears as mandatory, the issue is that for most requests the default for this would be the Auckland district, will play back to the users and see what they think
I guess the key learning here is that the required information only populates if there is a none option. Thanks for helping solve that one. I was beginning to think it may have been because the field i had added was referencing another table
Will liaise with business tomorrow and see what they think and do some testing may want to keep it defaulting to Auckland.
