Hello Everyone!
I wanted to reach out to the community to find out if any other organizations have implemented an ADP integration into ServiceNow for pulling worker information. Currently we are having a challenge with the OAUTH 2.0 configuration and getting a successful OAUTH token. Also we were provided a certificate and also a key file to use but we were only able to get the certificate only to validate. The key file is unable to be attached in the certificates section in ServiceNow as it will not validate.
Due to these issues, we are exploring mutual authentication as a workaround as provided by one of the cases we opened with ServiceNow HI Support.
Any help is greatly appreciated on how anyone was able to get their ServiceNow instance successfully connected to ADP.
Kind regards,
Terry Carter

Terry,
Did you get this figured out? I couldn't find a solution on the forums and I've been struggling with this for a while and I just got it working.
I first got everything working in Postman following ADP's instructions but could not get it working in SN...like everyone it seems.
When you create your Mutual Authentication Profile name it "adphttps" or whatever you like. This will be your protocol on the REST message instead of HTTPS.
On your REST Message use the Mutual Authentication Profile name you chose as the protocol for your REST message then select Authentication Type OAuth 2.0 and your profile like normal.
Save then run the Get Oauth Token Related Link to test.

Good Morning Rick,
Nope, we were not able to fully get this working properly so we had to reach out to ADP for another solution at this time. I appreciate you sharing the information above as we tried those methods on our end and could not get it to work with ServiceNow due to the security constraints placed by ADP obviously because it will be passing sensitive data. I'm glad you were able to get it working on your end finally. 🙂
We also reached out to ServiceNow Support engineers whom were challenged by this integration and the last I heard they may be working together for something related to HR Management application in ServiceNow that would make this much easier for us as developers/architects.
Kind regards,
Terry Carter

Hey there Terry,
Did either ADP or ServiceNow provide any support that was able to help you move past this issue? We are stuck in a similar spot. Thanks in advance.

Good evening Rick,
I apologize for the delay getting back to you but work has been busy which is a great thing!
Anyways, no we were not able to get the true approved integration with ADP to work within ServiceNow. It is due to the valid security constraints that will not allow the authentication methods to work as with other integrations. I was also able to get the Postman solution to work as well as stated above.
We ended up working with ADP to create a file transfer report that would communicate back and forth using one of our mid-servers to suffice for the ask that our HR Operations department needed a solution for.
I'm sure that ServiceNow is probably aware of this post and others while working on a true integration that will be housed in the HR Management application solution. Still keeping my eyes out for any new development in this use case on my end as well.
I would be more than happy to discuss with you our challenges and/or success using the current method of file transfer if need be.
Kind regards,
Terry Carter
