AI Search - Domain Separated?

Hello everyone,

I am new to AI Search and I would like to clarify something before proceeding further. I would like to know whether AI search is Domain Separated or not. According to the SNOW documentation, AI search is not domain separated, but AI Search Assist is. I am not sure why they are different and I would appreciate an explanation with an example.

Additionally, I have selected the default Search Application on the portal. Does this mean that AI Search is application-specific? I am also unsure about the purpose of the search results configuration. Could someone please clarify this for me?

Thank you.

configuration is not domain seperated but search results respect domain separation

@chaithu1489 Thanks for the response.

So, if a user from the "Finance" domain, searches for "purchase orders" using AI Search. The results will include purchase orders from all domains (e.g., "Marketing", "Sales") in ServiceNow, not just Finance right? The configuration here is not domain separated agree but also the results obtained are not domain separated. Correct me if I am wrong or am I missing something.

nope. it will show only records from finance domain. as the user has access to only finance domain.
