AI search is not showing correct article instead it suggesting Irrelevant catalog or KA

Hi Experts,

 

We have configured the AI Search in Virtual agent, Where VA is returning the irrelevant result sometime. I have checked the Configuration. Only difference is below.

 

As we have used

1. ESC portal default search application is AI search fallback topic. ESC portal default search application having enable exact match as false.

2. In VA Conversational interface setting , Default chat experience is having Virtual agent default search application mapped.

 

Kindly let me know will this config affect the result?

Yes, your configurations will affect Virtual Agent's search results. Using different AI Search Applications for the ESC portal and Virtual Agent means they have distinct settings for what content they search (search sources), how they rank relevance (search profiles), and potentially even if they prioritize exact matches. This discrepancy is the primary reason the Virtual Agent might return irrelevant results compared to the portal, as it's essentially using a different "brain" for search.
