Another way to integrate MS Teams to Service Now

Hello and Good Day,

We're currently attempting to do more integration between MS Teams and ServiceNow. One of the new feature that we wanted to implement is the ability to generate calls directly from ServiceNow during major incidents and the plan was to use the notify connector. The documentation for the notify connector, requires permissions for the following - Calls.IntiateGroupCall.AllUser.ReadAll and OnlineMeetings.ReadWrite.All. As some of these have some security requirements, I had a meeting with my information security and risk management team. The final permission that requires read/write access to calendars was flagged as a risk since it would entail having access to calendars organization wide.

One suggestion was to look at Outlook APIs to link to SNOW. My main aim is to have end to end major incident management capabilities managed within SNOW itself (chat, triage, logging etc). Our current practice is to generate an Outlook invite and then have people join a call to triage major incidents. I was interested in the notify connector since it would enable spinning up calls from the incident record itself.

Due to that, I'm back to the drawing board and would like to seek any alternative or workaround solution to overcome this?
