Appointment Booking Configuration / Advanced Configuration

Hello, folks.  Just looking for some clarification on using Advanced Configurations with Appointment Booking.

 

I've got a service-level configuration where I lay out the days and times for an appointment to be booked.  The caveat is that on Tues-Wednesday, the hours of availability are different.  

 

Now, I'm still a little fuzzy on how appointment booking works, why it has to be in the Workplace case Scope or even if this application is part of ServiceNow or a custom app from someone else at my organization.  A lot of it doesn't make sense to me.

 

But what I had thought WOULD make sense, would be having my Service Configuration set up to handle Monday, Thursday and Friday.  And then adding an ADVANCED configuration to it to handle Tuesday and Wednesday.

 

But when I take a look in the preview, what I find is that Tuesday and Wednesday show no availability to book appointments.  Almost as if my Advanced Configuration is ignored, even though it's active and associated to the main service-level config.

 

I'm pretty sure this is just me not understanding how to implement this correctly.  I'm not sure if the Advanced configuration is supposed to take precedence over the initial service-level config or work in tandem with it (as I assumed.)

Can anyone provide any guidance for me on this please?
