Hi,
I am using archive rule for 1st time, if i create archive rule in dev environment with some condition, it estimates some records say for example 20, so if i move this archive rule to test instance via update sets...will these estimated records also will be moved? or do i need to create separate rule?
Regards,
G

Those won't be carried out because its a record like you said. You can export those to a xml and import it to another instance.

When you deploy archive rules via update set OR XML, you are deploying only archive rule and the data is not part of it. So, it will not contain those records of target tabel.
Once deployed to another instance, the archive job will run and archive the eligible records in data table. If you do not want to wait for the scheduled job to run the archive rule, you can manually start the archive rule by clicking Run Archive Now in Archive rule form.
Hope this helps.
