Using Kingston 14a.
I have been experiencing issues when moving my recently created ATF Tests over to my TEST instance from my DEV instance. The update sets commit with no errors, but when I go to run the ATF Tests, they fail because the steps in the tests are all blank!
For example, the first Impersonation step is set to have System Administrator in the input field on DEV but when it's moved to TEST via update set, the input field is cleared out. Strangely enough, the description still has the correct information it it.
I thought this had to do with me rearranging some steps and I was able to fix it before by manually adding these records to my update set using the Add to Update Set utility. However, I tried doing it again this time around but no luck. It seems like the steps' input information is not being transferred over.
Any one ever experienced this? Any help with this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

There can be two probable scenario due to which the issue is being faced.
Firstly, the test steps are not captured in the update set i.e. we need to separately move the xml of the test and the test steps.
Secondly, the user for example as you mentioned System Administrator should be present in the TEST environment also, that might be the reason the user field comes as blank.
Please let me know for any further issue.
Thanks.

I did try exporting a step to XML and importing it in my TEST instance, but that did not work. I still have a blank input field in that ATF Step record.
I also confirmed that the System Administrator exists in both instances and is using the same sys_id.

you can capture the Test and Test steps in update set.

can you try to impersonate with other user , kindly mention the any itil user and see if that is working or not.

Yes, I know that Test and Test steps are captured in an update set. I can confirm that is still the case for me, as I can see the update records in my update set. However, after I move my update set from my DEV instance to my TEST instance and commit it, the steps are inserted into my TEST instance with blank input fields.
I have tried changing the user to a different user but I still get the same issue. This is not limited to this step either. I have 15 other steps in my Test that I captured in the update set and all of them are blanked out whenever I move them.
I am currently on Kingston Patch 14a.
