Automate CI selection based on CTASK assignment group in Change requests

I need some help/advice/insights on the best way to automate CI selection based on CATSK assignment groups.
Situation:
Our current client expects users to create change tickets with multiple tasks assigned to different support groups. SNOW being the CI based approval tool and not a task owner-based like in Remedy - missing out on mandatory approvals.
Workaround:
We are having change owners create a CHG - assign CTASKs for desired support groups - then search & select a right CI for the assigned groups manually, to make ServiceNow generate approval requests.
Solution needed:
I want to enquire if there is a way for ServiceNow to auto-populate the relevant CI based on the assigned support group in a CTASK and use that CI to generate approval requests.
