I could use advice on automated failover solutions. We are a self-hosted enterprise with a primary site and a continuity-of-operations (COOP) failover site. Currently, our MariaDB COOP database replicates the primary database, and, in a failover, we'd apply manual procedures to bring online the COOP ServiceNow cluster, as well as fiddle some DNS to make the failover largely transparent to our customers. We'd like to automate this procedure and I've begun looking at Galera and MaxScale. Do they provide an automated failover solution? And if so, is it Galera and MaxScale together, Galera only, or MaxScale only?
