Autopopulate the number field from one table to another

I have two tables name employee and related list table, now I want to populate number filed from employee table to related list table as number = employee field. 

How can I achieve this, employee table on related list table is a reference field.

You can dot walk from the Employee Table to Releated List Table by using reference field

1. Open your Related List form -> Configure -> Form Layout
2. Select reference field that you want to dot-walk into(in you case it is Employee):
3. Click on "Expand selected reference field"
4. 
5. Find field you are looking for (in your case it is Employee > Number) -> move it to "Selected" and if needed adjust placement
6. 
7. Result

if the Related list table has a reference field pointing to Employee then when you are on Employee form and click New from related list then Employee field should get auto populated

This is same how RITM gets auto populated in sc task form when you click New from related list.
