I have the following use case and I'm a bit unsure what's the best way to approach this: our client wants to baseline only specific cost types to identify whether a project has been delivered against the budget or not.
We have 2 custom Cost types: Implementation costs X and Implementation Costs Y and the sum of these represent the project implementation cost and the point of reference for the baseline. Worth mentioning that other Cost Plans are being created as well, against various Cost Types and Expense types.
I was thinking to create a custom field on pm_project record and somehow calculate the sum of Implementation costs X with Implementation Costs Y from the cost plans (not sure how to do this though and if possible) and then map this field into the baseline record so I can use it for comparison.
Is there an easier way to do this and has anybody done something similar in the past?
