Calling third party APIs using mid server

Hi, i need to call API endpoints from third party application into service now. I gave authentication as 'BASIC' for calling those apis and it asked for username and password, so i provided the username and password for the third party tool ,on clicking on Test it showed me some java.net host exception error. That's why now I want to fetch those APIs using mid server. I dont know how we use mid server? like i have installed it and connection and validation is done but how do we use this for calling APIs for third party application? I actually need step by step guidance as I am very new to this..-thanks in advance

You'll need to get in touch with the network/infrastructure team in your organization. Ask them that you need to access the third party API from your MID server. Tell them the url of the third party API and IP address of the MID server. They should be able to handle it from there.

Can you first confirm whether the API {end-points}can be accessible from out side network or public network, in such case you do not require MID Server. you can test the same, by accessing it through 3rd party Apps like POSTMAN, SOAP UI. you can also confirm the same from CLIENT. If this is nor possible then you can install the Mid Server in the network and as "Muhammed" suggested you can proceed with that.
