Can a field appear in multiple tabs on the same form?

Is it possible to add the same field to a form in multiple tabs? Customer requirement that I've not come across before.

Hi,

The field can appear in multiple sections, but it causes lots of problem while editing the field, if you add a value on section and leave it blank on another section, its no telling whether it would be updated or not.

The General design idea is , to have the fields that are more common onthe master, first, section and so when you change tabs (assuming you use tabular section), you an always see that field on the form.

Yes it is possible, but as Anurag has pointed out is not recommended.
