Can anyone shed some light on sysparm_clear_stack and sysparm_nameofstack ?

These two parameters exist, and you'll see them sometimes in URLs in ServiceNow; and consultants sometimes use them, but what are they?
What do they do?
I thought 'clear_stack' might solve (or at least help) an issue we had with a submitted form returning to the wrong spot, but it didn't; so I want to understand what they're meant to do.

I'd open a hi ticket. I've not seen anywhere in the system that depicts what these parameters do, it may be black-boxed. A question to HI should answer it.
