Hello,
I created a new choice field that needs to depend on the Subcategory field that was already setup. When I go to the definition page for the new choice field I see the Dependent Field seciton but it says Specify a field whose value is used to determine choice list options for this field and there is not a box for me to enter a dependent name. I looked at the Wiki and also watched a couple of videos and all 3 sources show that I should be able to enter a field name but it isn't showing up. I also tried creating two new choice fields and tried to make the second one dependent on the first but the field still didn't show up. Any ideas? Thanks!

Did you get an answer to this? I want to do the same thing with Service Now Business Edition.

Hi Adam,
Did you find an answer to this?
It sounds like there could be a few possible reasons for the fields not showing up correctly:
1. The 'Dependent on field' field is only visible once the 'Use dependent field' has been set to true, please see the attached screen shots.
2. Or the fields have actually been removed as a personalisation of the form.
Please let me know how you got on.

Hi Adam,
If you've selected the Advanced View for the dictionary entry, you should see the Dependent Field section tab (this is where you saw that message). Underneath this, there should be a checkbox field called Use dependent field. When this is selected, another field should appear underneath called Dependant on field. Next to this field should be a link called Click to select... After clicking this text, a popup should appear with a hierarchical list showing all of the fields on the current table. Here you should be able to select the field whose value will be matched with the Dependant value on your choice list values. For reference, I've included the screen shots below. The example I used was for the sub-category field on the Task table. This field is dependent upon the Category field to filter it's choice list. In other words, only the choices with a Dependant value matching the current value in the Category field will be available as choices. Note that this feature does not work with Reference fields (string only).
Regards,
Jake
