Can we make BackGround Scripts Available to users without security admin role

Hello, We have a requirement where we want to give some users Capability to run Background Scripts. I know Background script OOB is available to security admin roles only. Is there a way I can make a new role and give the user this capability. We made a new role and made system Definition available but still user cannot see Background scripts under the module. Rest all the things are visible under System Definition.

I am sure if it's good practice (atleast in my opinion it's not) to provide access to other users who does not have admin access. I think OOB background script in given access to users who has admin access. you can try assigning the newly create role here and see if this helps.

was curious to know what script are they supposed to execute which requires them to get access on background script and that can not be done as part of admin activity?

Tried adding the role here. Still no luck. 

System definition module is visible but Background script option still not visible.

Which Release are you on. After Jakarta, Background script is visible for admins as well.

Also can you share the screenshot of what you modified
