Can you please advise how to clear up the orphaned records? Thank you!

Dear ServiceNow Community,
In our PROD instance, we have found some orphaned records in the cmdb_ci_appl table. (As per ServiceNow vendor, looks like the data that is displaying is only the records that are parented properly in the cmdb_ci and cmdb table which both are missing the records that seem to be orphaned).
I would like to see if it's safe to clean it up in PROD instance directly. Or it's better to clone PROD over DEV and have SNOW support to clean it up in DEV first?

Hi Feng,
Well if you could be little more clear in your description it would had helped to give solution but as a best practice clone it to Non Prod instance and see how cleaning the data effects the non prod environment and based on that then move it to prod with better decision making .
