Cannot add User field to sp_log view

I am unable to add the User field to the view for Service Portal Log Entries (sp_log). I am an admin. I can see the field in the table schema. I can use script to read from the field as expected. I just can't add it to the list view, either through personalizing, modifying the list layout, or even using the SN Utils Chrome extension. I checked a new Washington instance and it's not there either. Oddly, I've seen one screenshot of someone else's table showing the User field in the view.

Is there some way to add it?

There is an ACL which blocks any user from seeing this field. You can deactivate this ACL to try if you can see the field. Not sure the reason from not showing to user though.
