Cannot dot walk on 'Create or Update Record' action in Flow Designer

Is there a way I can dot walk on this action:

In this table the User User Id is the unique value I need to target the record to update. Yet I cannot dot walk to get there. How can I do this otherwise?

Is the User field in that table a reference field to the sys_user table?

Yes it is.

I try this issue in my non-prod instance (Orlando version too) and using the Data Pill I can dot walking a table with the User field.

Can you try using the Data pill, please?
