Cannot remove 'New' UI Action in Project Workspace

I've been unsuccessful in hiding this 'New' button on the home page of the Project Workspace. I've tried several steps I've read in community posts and tried to add an exclusion for the project table in the"Action Exclusions related list" to no avail. I'm admittedly pretty green with workspace configurations. Has anyone else faced this issue?

Here is what finally worked for me:

UX Form Actions Config
--Select "Project Workspace action config"
--Under All Global List Actions, select the "New" where Action Model = List and View is empty
--Under "Action Exclusions" click New
--Select pm_project as the Table and check "Exclude this table"
--Save the record

What's the reason of wanting to hide it? If it's because a certain group of users just isn't allowed to create projects, use ACL's so they can't.

Please mark any helpful or correct solutions as such. That helps others find their solutions.

Have you checked the UI Builder page for the same. It seems like a button and not a declarative action. From there you should be able to hide.

I did check UI Builder. Oddly, there is another button just above this one called 'New Project.' I can access this from the UI Builder, but not the 'New' button below it.
