Catalog Item with multi-row variable sets 'required' issues

Hello!

I have a catalog Item that basically asks 5 questions. For four of those questions, if the answer is 'yes', then i show a multi-row variable set. For one of the questions, if the answer is 'no', i show a multi-row variable set.

That part I have working as expected, however, some of the variables in the variable sets need to be 'required' if that variable set is active=yes or 'shown'.  

Currently, if i make the variable that I need to be required in each variable set, then when the catalog item is loaded, ALL questions are shown-the initial 5 plus all questions in each variable set.

Question-  How do I only show the 5 needed questions, then if the answer is 'active=true', show the variable set with required fields at that time?

Sorry...  My variable sets are 'SINGLE ROW'

you will have individually show/hide and make those variables mandatory 1 by 1.

You cannot make all the variables within Single row variable set as mandatory.
