Catalog Variable translation

I have been trying to configure SNow for multiple languages and for testing, have added the French plug in. When I view a Catalog item in either UI or ESS site the standard cat item field names are displayed in French but catalog variables are not. Could someone help me with the translation of catalog variables in French? Please advise if there are any further configurations required.
