Certificate Based Authentication in Data Source

Hi All,

I am working with a client to collect files from an SFTP location and process in ServiceNow. We would like to use the data source for that however here are my queries - 

1. The customer want to do certificate based authentication, Is there any way we can do certificate based authentication from a data source ?

2. If The SFTP location is not Public then is there a way to get the data source connection via a mid server ?
