Change management conflicts?

Hi All,

Would someone be able to help me with the change management conflict scenario?
if a Change request is scheduled in the morning from 9 am to 12 pm and another Change request has been scheduled evening from 5 pm to 10 pm but both are scheduled on the same day with different time frames and assigned to also different for both change requests.

Do these change request conflicts with each other?
What will be the OOB functionality on changes scheduled on the same day with different time frames?

Thanks

Hello,

Yes same date different time will be not considered as a conflict, however Conflicts can happen because of various reason and not just dates and time.

Conflict detection identifies potential scheduling conflicts for a change request based on the configuration items (CIs), planned start date, and the planned end date in scope for the change. If a scheduling conflict exists, conflict detection also checks any related blackout or maintenance schedules and other active change requests to determine the scheduling conflict.

Conflict detection identifies conflicts for any of the following reasons:
  • The CIs are already scheduled at the given date and time.
  • A parent of the CI is already scheduled at the given date and time.
  • A child of the CI is already scheduled at the given date and time.
  • The CI is not in the maintenance window.
  • A parent of the CI is not in the maintenance window.
  • A child of the CI is not in the maintenance window.
  • The CI is in a blackout window.
  • A parent of the CI is in a blackout window.
  • A child of the CI is in a blackout window.
  • The assigned to person is already scheduled at the given date and time.
