Change notification email template based on Assignment group

Hi all,

Our client recently raised this requirement to use different email template for different assignment group for incident and request item tables. As a result, when notifications are sent, the email signature will changed to the corresponding group's signature.

I'm currently duplicating all the notifications and changing the condition to make sure the right group sending the right signatures but this is really time consuming and in the future they will onboard more departments and groups.

I might just be stuck in my thinking. Any better ideas for this?

@Estelle1  is it not possible to change the signature using the notification email scripts? can you share a sample signature ?

Hi Johnny,

The signature is set in the email layout of the email template. I don't think it can be controlled by the email script because it is aligned with the icons, footers, background colors and so on.

@Estelle1 can you share the screenshot by any chance to understand it better?

You can get the source code from the template and then tweak it accordingly in the notification email scripts.

Are there lot of assignment groups and signature changes? if it is just 1 or 2 may be create a separate notification.
