Change the Widget in a nested container in service portal.

In the below screen shot - shows the home page in Page Editor.   As you can see there 7 columns that are nested which have nested widgets - Basically they each represent a list view which call out to data from different tables. There is an issue with the widget that gets called from "Home-Other Items - Active". I would like to replace the widget "Data Table from Instance Def" that is getting called with a new widget with changes and the fix.

But as you see below in the page designed view I do not see the widget it self to delete and place the new one and test it. Where else can I update the connection and the widget.

Thanks in Advance!!

In the back-end of ServiceNow, go to Service Portal > Pages, and find your page, use the containers related list to navigate to where your widget is, you should be able to see it there.

Hi Earl -

I am able to access the widget through the way you have explained. But I am not finding a way to replace the widget with a new one. In the below screenshot I would like to replace the widget indicated in red below with a new widget -

Hi Nitya, sorry for the late reply!

You can either change the widget by clicking on "Instance with Table" to the left of your highlighted item, and then changing the associated Widget there. Or you can delete entirely and then add a new widget in the portal designer.

Hope that helps!

Hi Earl,

You were right - i was able to update the Widget from the related list in the form shown above.

Thanks again !!
