Changes to a catalog item were made and there are 10 update sets. Do I need to promote them all?

Hi,

One of the developers made changes to a catalog item and there are 2 manually created update sets and 8 update sets that catalog builder created. Can they just export the latest manually created update set and the latest catalog builder created update set and move those to the higher environment, or should all update sets be moved. I think all should be moved but they think just the latest 2 need to be moved. Please me know. Thanks.

Hello @Mike LHCG

If the catalog items are updated via Catalog Builder only, then update sets created by catalog builder however if the catalog items are updated via Catalog Builder and developer in his/her update sets and this update set has customer updates then all 10.

Here is an example from my PDI: Catalog Items:

1. Dummy - MVRS
2. Dummy123

Create "Dummy" local update sets however updated both the above catalog items (maintain items) directly in catalog builder.

You can notice the three update sets below:

Dummy update set has zero customer updates:

Whereas the 2 update sets created by catalog builder for maintain item has all the customer updates respectively:

Hope that helps!
